Week 51 Compilation Board!
357 days down, 8 days to go!!!
Day 355 – Fairy in a Jar
Created by cutting a silhouette of a fairy out of black paper and sticking it on the inside of the jar.
I then stuck one layer of white tissue paper using PVA glue, added some fairy dust and pearlescent paint before lighting a candle on the inside for the glow…
Day 353 – Puzzle Fairy
I drew this scene in pencil on some paper before painting in watercolour and finishing some if the details in black fineliner.
I then cut it into puzzle-shaped pieces (which took a lot longer than I expected).
Day 350 – Ombre Background Fairy
Drawn directly using black fineliner onto a feint colourful stripey background painted using watercolour paints.
Day 349 – Green Fairy
Painted using green watercolour paints on some pale green card.
Day 327 – 2018 Fairy
To celebrate the start of 2018, I painted “2018” in various shades of watercolour paints before layering it up with coloured pens and colouring pencils.
I then drew a silhouette of a fairy on the reverse and cut it out using my craft knife and placed the reverse silhouette on the cutting mat.
Day 325 – Watercolour Pencil Fairy
Using a newly re-discovered material of watercolour pencils, I couldn’t resist playing around and sketching today’s fairy before using a wet paintbrush to blend the colours.
Day 316 – Ceramic Heart Fairy
Using pastel coloured ceramic paints and a sponge, I created the background (with a bit of texture). I then painted the silhouette of today’s fairy in black with a small paintbrush.
Day 248 – Pirate Fairy
To celebrate my nephew’s birthday today, and to stay in line with the theme of the majority of his presents, I created a pirate fairy.
I painted a whole page of my A5 sketchbook using navy blue acrylic paint and used the brush to add texture. Once dry, I drew a silhouette of a fairy on the reverse and cut it out using scissors.
Day 237 – Painted Jar Fairy
I started by painting the inside of a clean pickle jar with acrylic paints in various shades of blue. I mixed the colours as I painted.
I then drew a silhouette of a fairy with a black permanent marker on the outside of the jar.
In my head, I thought putting a lit candle inside would make the silhouette shine through. This didn’t work. I therefore painted on top of the black permanent marker with white acrylic paint. I tried dabbing the brush to add a bit of texture.
