Ombre Numbers Fairy

Day 114 – Ombre Numbers Fairy

Today’s flying friend is a special request from my nephew. He asked that I do “the outline of a fairy in numbers (not numbers in the middle of a fairy shape)”.

Hopefully I have done justice to his request. I drew the outline in pencil, used some rubber number stamps that I had and my rainbow coloured inks to add a bit more colour. I used all the numbers in the varying colours and aimed for an ombre effect.

Silver Ink Fairy

Day 81 – Silver Ink Fairy

I chose Cecily Mary Barker’s Candytuft fairy for my inspiration today. I used some silver drawing ink with a dip pen and traced the image on to parchment paper. After I had finished the initial image, I added a bit more glittery detail with a gelly rollerball pen.

The above photo I took whilst holding the parchment on our window to get even lighting.

The one below, I used the HDR function on my camera. I like the definition but it made the ink look a bit black.

Rubber Stamp Fairy

Day 76 – Rubber Stamp Fairy

Repeatedly using only a tiny fairy-shaped rubber stamp and one shade of ink, I created this silhouette of a fairy.

I deliberately used varying degrees of ink on the stamp to add to the effect, particularly on the wings.

Glitter Peach 365 Day 36
I re-discovered my 3D embossing powder for today’s fairy. It is one of those things that is so simple to use and is really effective!

I used my silver powder on black paper to show the contrast colour-wise. I only have an ink pad at present so used one of my fairy stamps. I will definitely look for a pen version with this ink so I can experiment a bit more…
